Marie Zaremba
09/09/1932 - 01/02/2023

Marie Zaremba, 90, formerly of Greenfield Avenue, Summit, NJ, passed into eternal life on January 2, 2023, in Rahway, NJ, after a long illness.

Her beloved husband was the late William (Bill) Zaremba, who passed away on June 22, 1989. Together, Bill and Marie shared 40 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on September 9, 1932, in Pittston, PA, Marie was the daughter of the late Andrew and Frances (Lisinski) Wnuk.

Raised in Pittston, Marie was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1949.  She also graduated from Union College with an Accounting degree.

A faithful Catholic, Marie was a long-time member at St. Theresa’s Church, Summit, NJ.  She was also a Eucharistic Minister and Bereavement Facilitator for the Church.  Without fail, that’s where you would find Marie almost every day.

Marie was a stay-at-home mom until her children were in school full time.  She worked part time at the school for many years while her children went to grade school.  Marie then went to work for Victory Engineering in Springfield, NJ, and eventually retired from her next job at National Manufacturing, located in Chatham, NJ, to enjoy her family and travel.

Marie loved to have fun, play the piano, sing and dance.  If Wooly Bully by Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs was playing, Marie was dancing, usually doing the Jitterbug.  Marie had many enjoyments in life, especially traveling.  She especially loved her annual trips to her timeshare in Aruba with her sister, Martha Broda, her sister-in-law, Dolores Zaremba, and Dolores’ sister, Marie Evans.  Whoever else wanted to join them was always welcome. Above all, Marie’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her beloved family.  The love and devotion she had for her loved ones was boundless.

In addition to her parents, Andrew and Frances Wnuk, and her husband, Bill, Marie was preceded in death by her daughters Barbara Zaremba (Howard) and Patrice Zaremba; and her sister Martha Broda.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Denise Massa (husband, Joseph) of Little River, SC; her daughter Beverly Pepe (husband, Steve) of New Providence, NJ; her four grandchildren, Ashlee Howard, Travis Howard (wife Casey), Kendell Pepe, and Steven Pepe; her two great-grandchildren, T.J. and Callie Howard; her sister, Patricia Sralik (husband John), Sun City West, AZ; her sister, Carol Barrette (husband Joseph), Dunmore, PA; and her brother, John Wnuk (wife Sherri), Mesa, AZ; as well as her numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
