Marie Welsh, 88, of Summit, NJ passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013. Marie was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, James Welsh. She was the beloved mother of Laurie Joffe of Summit, NJ and Jonathan Welsh of Bogota, NJ, as well as grandchildren Jeffrey Carter, Chestton Joffe, and Jacqueline Joffe. A graduate of Douglass College, Marie was active in her community serving as trustee and past president of the Summit Art Center, member of the American Association of University Women, the Fortnightly Club of Summit, and a recipient of the YWCA Citation for Women of Service and Achievement. As well as an artist, Marie was a successful realtor with Burgdorff for over 25 years.
