Marilyn C. Lang, 80, of Springfield, NJ, passed away at her home on February 25, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave. in Springfield on Tuesday, March 1st at 10am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
Born and raised in Newark, NJ, the daughter of Thomas and Elsie (Weiss) Donnelly, Marilyn graduated from West Side High School in 1959. She had also lived in Irvington before moving to Springfield in 1970. In her earlier years, Marilyn worked at AT&T in Newark before leaving to raise her daughter. She later worked as the office manager at WPI Communications, Inc. in Springfield before retiring after 30 years of service. A longtime parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. James, Marilyn enjoyed theater, reading and spoiling her granddaughters.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late Richard Lang. She was the loving mother of Deborah Vetter and her husband George. She is also survived by her cherished granddaughters, Megan and Brianna Vetter and her dear brother Norman Donnelly. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to either Atlantic Hospice-Visiting Nurse, 200 Mt. Airy Rd., Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 or St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave., Springfield, NJ 07081.
