Marion C. Rivano, 90, of Springfield, NJ, passed away on December 15, 2024, at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave. in Springfield on Monday, December 23rd at 10am. Entombment will follow at Moravian Cemetery in Staten Island.
Born in Poughkeepsie, the daughter of Carmelo and Angelina (Damelio) Rivano, Marion was raised in Brooklyn and had also lived in Staten Island and Lakewood before moving to Springfield. A legal secretary, she worked at several NYC law firms, retiring from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius many years ago. Marion was an active parishioner at St. James and her church in Lakewood where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed reading, the opera and walking and was an avid traveler, especially enjoying the Asian countries, with Japan being her favorite.
Marion was the beloved aunt of Edward Rivano, John Rivano, Anthony Rivano (Vicky), Michael Rivano, Caesar Rivano (Laura) and Susan Deluca (Enzio). She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, Ava Marie, Nicholas, Mackenzie and Lucas, and John, Alexis, Christopher and Michael. She is predeceased by her brothers and their wives, Caesar Rivano (Gloria) and Edward Rivano (Maria).
