Marlene (Salvatore) Sharp, 87, of Chatham, New Jersey passed away on June 7, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newark and raised in Milburn, Marlene was one of 3 children born to Joseph and Jane Salvatore. She attended Milburn High School where she met her husband of 67 years, Frank Sharp. They married in 1953 and moved to Chatham where they raised their two sons, Robert and Frank.
Marlene’s father’s career as a designer led to her love for fashion and a career in retail at Bonwit Teller and later, Bloomingdales. However, it was her love for dogs that led her to volunteer for numerous animal leagues over the years.
Marlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She adored spending time with her grandchildren, through their many travels together; big Italian meals; and annual Gingerbread House creations at Christmas time. Her much anticipated, traditional Italian recipes always made the holidays special.
Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Jane Salvatore, and two brothers, Vincent and Joseph Salvatore. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank and their two sons and their spouses, Robert and Linda Sharp and Dr. Frank and Susan Sharp along with their children Billy, Sarah and Mary.
