~~Marnee Henderson, 69, of Chatham, NJ passed away on January 19, 2018. A memorial service will be held at Beacon Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 4 Waldron Ave., in Summit on Tuesday, January 30 at 1:00 PM. Born in Boston, the daughter of Ray and Margaret (Rinehart) Henderson, Marnee was raised in Ridgewood, NJ where she graduated from high school in 1966. She attended Hunter College in New York. In her younger years she worked for the New York graphic design firm Chermayeff and Geismar. After her children were born, she became an active stay-at-home mom. For many years, Marnee was a member of the Beacon congregation and the Rolling Hill Association in Chatham. An avid reader, she also enjoyed knitting, playing Mahjong, traveling, and attending New York theater events. She is remembered for her warmth and compassion for those around her.
Marnee was the beloved wife of 38 years of James Galbraith. She was the loving mother of Emily Galbraith of Stillwater, NJ, who is engaged to Brendan Rearer, and of Jay Galbraith of Brookline, MA, who is married to Dr. Arda Hotz. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Michael Henderson, of Stuart, FL. Marnee is predeceased by her brother Paul Henderson.
