Marta Rosa DePhillips, 92 of Summit, NJ, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 7, 2022. Born and raised in Sensuntepeque, El Salvador. Marta came to the United States in 1991 and resided in Summit, NJ. Marta was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother, great- grandmother, wife and friend.

Marta loved to cook El Salvadorian foods and tropical beverages, especially horchata, tiste and chilate. She also loved to tell stories and jokes and loved singing church songs and praying. She taught her family the importance of faith, loving and serving the Lord, and always giving thanks and praise to the Lord. Marta volunteered at La Casa de San Vincent de Paul in El Salvador and was a eucharistic minister and member of the Legion de Maria of St. Teresa of Avila Church, Summit, NJ. Marta is pre-deceased by her mother, the late Mariana Rosales, her husband, James DePhillips, her son Carlos Rosales and many siblings.

She is survived by her three children, Marina and her husband, Baudilio Marta and her husband Jose, Edwin and his wife Shalini, grandmother of Karoll Mariana, Iliana Maria, Ingrid, Jessica, Carol, Stacey and Kimberley, is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and many other loved friends from her church and community.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 10:45 am at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave. Summit, NJ. Entombment St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Short Hills, NJ. Visiting hours, Sunday, June 12 t from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Bradley Brough  Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Ave. Summit, NJ. Marta Rosa DePhillips, 92 de Summit, NJ, falleció pacíficamente en su casa rodeada de su familia el 7 de junio de 2022. Nacida y criada en Sensuntepeque, El Salvador. Marta vino a los Estados Unidos en 1991 y residía en Summit, NJ. Marta fue una madre, abuela, bisabuela, tia, esposa, y amiga amorosa.

A Marta le encantaba cocinar comidas salvadoreñas y bebidas tropicales, especialmente horchata, tiste y chilate. A ella también le encantaba contar cuentos y chistes, y le encantaba cantar canciones de iglesia y rezar. Le enseñó a su familia la importancia de la fe, amar y servir al Señor, y siempre dar gracias y alabanza al Señor. Marta fue voluntaria en La Casa de San Vicente de Paúl en El Salvador y fue parte del ministro  eucarístico y miembro de la Legión de María de Santa Teresa de Iglesia de Ávila, Summit, Nueva Jersey. Marta estas gozando en la presencia del señor , con su madre  Mariana Rosales,  su esposo, James DePhillips, su hijo Carlos Rosales y muchos hermanas y hermanos.

Le sobreviven sus tres hijos, Marina y su esposo, Baudilio. Marta y su esposo José, Edwin y su esposa Shalini, abuela de Karoll Mariana, Iliana Maria, Ingrid, Jessica, Carol, Stacey y Kimberley, también le sobreviven 9 bisnietos y muchos otros amados amigos de su iglesia y comunidad.

Habrá una misa de cristiana sepultura celebrada el lunes 13 de junio de 2022 a las 10:45 h en Santa Teresa de Ávila Iglesia, 306 Morris Ave. Summit, NJ. Sepultura San Esteban Cementerio, Short Hills, Nueva Jersey. Horario de visita, domingo 12 de junio de 14 a 20 h. 6:00 p. m. en Bradley Brough Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Ave. Cumbre, Nueva Jersey.
