Mary Rose Brandon, 85, of Springfield, NJ, passed away on November 11, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., in Short Hills on Friday, November 16th at 10am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in N. Arlington, NJ. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., in Springfield on Thursday from 3 to 7pm. Born and raised in Brooklyn, the daughter of Patrick and Ann (McInerney) Mulrooney, Mary was a graduate of Erasmus High School class of 1950. She had also lived in Jersey City, West New York, North Bergen, and Fairview before moving to Springfield in 1990. In her earlier years, Mary worked as an administrative assistant on Wall Street and later as a bookkeeper for several firms in North Jersey. Prior to retiring, she was a customer sales representative for Essex Sports Cars in Maplewood. A longtime parishioner at St. Rose of Lima, Mary was also a volunteer at Overlook Hospital for 22 years. She enjoyed visiting the Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, the Springfield pool and times spent with family and friends.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Eugene Brandon. She was the loving mother of John Brandon, James Brandon and his wife Marina, and Thomas Brandon and his wife Sherry. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Hannah, Christopher, Lauren, Dr. Christina Terehoff and her husband Roman, Michelle Alina Sawyer and her husband Joseph, Brett, Sean, and Kayla, great granddaughter, Darla James Sawyer, brother Patrick Mulrooney and his wife Margaret and sisters, Kathleen Mulrooney and Ellen Collett and her husband Martin. Mary is predeceased by her siblings, John Mulrooney, Thomas Mulrooney, William Mulrooney, Ann McCauley and Charles Mulrooney. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
