Mary Theresa Capriglione, 92, of Warren, NJ, passed away on August 25, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel, 1212 Kelly St. in Union on Monday, August 29th at 10:15am. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave. in Union on Sunday, August 28th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Born and raised in Newark, NJ, the daughter of Joseph and Louise (Giuliano) Zappulla, Mary graduated from Weequahic High School. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education from Seton Hall University. Mary was a special education teacher at Connecticut Farms School in Union until her retirement in 1997. A member of the Grand Centurions in Clark, she also enjoyed cooking. Mary will be fondly remembered as an “Earth Angel”, a true caregiver who always put others before herself.
Mary was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Anthony Capriglione. She was the dear sister of Matthew Zappulla (Marilyn), the late Catherine LaPlaca, and the late Josephine Anderson. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Carol Porter, Chuck LaPlaca, Reid C. Anderson, Lisa M. Flynn, Carla L. Anderson, Robert S. Anderson, Kristen C. Anderson and Barbara Olas as well as many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donation in Mary’s memory may be made to the Michael J.
