Mary V. Hastie, 84, of Whippany, passed away on Monday April 8, 2013. Born in DuPont, Pennsylvania, Mary was also raised in Pittstown, Pennsylvania before moving to Newark, New Jersey. She lived in Maplewood before settling in Whippany 20 years ago. She worked for Shop Rite in Maplewood for many years. A member of the Whippany Seniors Club, she enjoyed crocheting and needle point.

Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Mary Ziobro, and husband John T. Hastie , Jr., Mary is survived by her children John T. “Jack” Hastie III and his wife Bonnie, and Ed Hastie and his wife, Annette; grandchildren Jillian Bennett and her husband Ron, Rachael Hastie, Lauren Aiello and her husband Chris, and Christopher Hastie and his fianc√© Kristin; great grandchild Camryn Aiello; and siblings Sister Jacqueline Ziobro, S.S.C.M.; Edward Ziobro and Gloria Ziobro.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 90 Whippany Rd., Whippany. Entombment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 6-9pm at the Bradley Braviak Funeral Home 49 Whippany Rd., in Whippany.
