Maryann O’Mea, August 11, 1945 -November 3, 2014

Maryann O’Mea passed peacefully from this world at home, with her family, on November 3, 2014 in Madison, New Jersey. Maryann was an avid world traveler and local road-tripper, a voracious reader of history, biography, and murder mystery novels, and a loving and devoted mother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.

She was born in Newark and raised in Irvington, where she attended St. Leo’s School. She graduated from Seton Hall University in 1967 and taught briefly before following a career path culminating in 25 years with Lipper. Throughout her life, she taught her sons the importance of hard work, the value of contentment, and the strength of dignity.

She will be remembered by her sons, Patrick and George, Joanna O’Mea, Emily Stabile, Diane Fischl, her nieces and nephew Jennifer Kruger, Julie Dolan, Katie Fuller, and Stephen Fischl, and their families, Kenneth, Maggie, Aisling, and Sean Kruger, Kevin, Megan, and Cullen Dolan, and John, Luke, Kira, and Lila Fuller. She joins her brother Dr. Stephen J. Fischl and parents Katherine and Stephen Fischl in eternal rest.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm at Bradley & Sons Funeral Home, 345 Main Street in Chatham. A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday at Corpus Christi Catholic Churchm, 234 Southern Blvd., Chatham Twp and she will be laid to rest at Saint Teresa Cemetery in Summit.
