Maureen Regina Brennan, 85, of Summit, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Overlook Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ, 07901 with an entombment to follow in the parish cemetery.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on September 30, 1936, the daughter of William and Helen (Casey) Brock, Maureen was a Devout Catholic. Professed in 2000, Maureen (Mary of The Blessed Sacrament) was a Third Order Dominican of the Holy Rosary Fraternity in Summit for over 21 years. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila Church, where she enjoyed teaching religious education classes to children. Maureen was a devoted wife, mother of six children, and homemaker. In her spare time she was an avid gardener, and enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, and puzzles. A lover of all animals, especially her faithful companion, her dog, Auggie. Maureen enjoyed most of all spending time with her cherished grandchildren.

Maureen was predeceased by her first husband, John J. O’Brien, second husband, William P. Brennan, and son, Edward P. O’Brien. She was the loving mother of John O’Brien and wife Christine, Patricia O’Brien and husband Michael O’Shea, Catherine Delloiacovo and her husband Joseph, William O’Brien and wife Teresa, James Brennan and wife Nikki; grandmother of Joseph D. Delloiacovo and wife Cheri, Julia Brennan, and William Brennan. She is also survived by her sister, Sheila Catalano of Cedarhurst, New York; sister-in-law Ellen Brennan Gero and husband Charles of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, many beloved nieces and nephews, and her dear friend of over 40 years, Nancy Sheridan.
