Max Ekpeni

Maximillian “Max” C. Ekpeni, 20, of Union, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Max was born on January 12, 2000 in Auchi, Nigeria. He was the son of Mr. Emmanuel A. and Maureen I (nee Asoya) Ekpeni. He immigrated to the United States in 2009 and attended Pillar High School, Livingston, NJ, where he was loved by his teachers, aides, and fellow classmates.

Max loved people and school and enjoyed learning. Although life was not easy for him, He was a caring boy who brought so much joy to our lives. He had a kind heart and a bright smile that was so welcoming that it made everyone feel happy whenever they were around him. Wherever he went, he left a trail of his pure and genuine personality which made him popular among many.

He is survived by his parents, Emmanuel and Maureen Ekpeni and sister, Joanne and brothers, Malcolm and Michael. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Clara Idiaye and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

A private viewing will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 9:30-10:30 am at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Avenue, Union, NJ 07083. A graveside service will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ.
