Michael J. Sabadic Jr. passed away at 81 years old, January 10th 2024. He grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey, and in later years moved to The Outer Banks of North Carolina, and presently resided in Virginia. After graduating Columbia High School, he started his career at the Royal Lunch in Newark, and then to the Ballantine Brewery, to Pabst Brewery, and then to Berkeley Heights Board of Education. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn (Strowe) and stayed a dedicated and dependable husband for 61 years till his passing. He enjoyed the simple things in life and loved spending his time outdoors. He was fond of fishing off the coasts of New Jersey, North Carolina, and Virginia, and even as far south as the Caribbean. Later in life, he took up a passion for hunting as well. Though a humble man, he had various citations for his accomplishments in sport fishing, as well as being and incredibly talented woodworker. Dogs loved him just as much as he loved them, if not more, including his three grandogs and one great grandog. He is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn (Strowe) and his son Michael J. Sabadic III (Waldimary), and Sharon Manginelli (Rich). Also by 5 grandchildren, Michael, Lisa (William), Nicholas, Christopher, and Brianna, along with 3 great grandchildren, Brody, Pearson, and Barrett. He was predeceased in death by his father, Michael, his mother, Marie, and his younger sister, Carol Howard. Michael’s legacy will live on through our memories of his lighthearted and entertaining stories, and all the lessons that he taught us, making us better people, and living on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory could be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or your local ASPCA.
