Murdoch C. Walker, Jr., 59, of Warren, New Jersey passed away suddenly Monday, November 11, 2013 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ.
Murdoch was born on January 16, 1954 in Newark, NJ. He was the son of Margaret Batchelor Walker and the late Murdoch C. Walker, Sr. He was the 2nd generation owner and operator of Murdoch Walker Roofing and Siding Company for the past 40 years.
He was a 1972 graduate of Union High School, Union, NJ. Murdoch was a long-time coach for the Little League Baseball in Union, NJ. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Union Council #4504.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Leona Christie Walker and his son, Murdoch C. Walker, III. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Walker, two sisters, Maryann Walker Core and husband Robert, and Nancy Walker Laudenburger and husband John, a brother, David Walker and wife Maggie, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., Springfield, NJ 07081. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James the Apostle R.C. Church, 45 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. A private cremation to follow.
