Myles E. Tierney of Whippany, NJ passed away peacefully on September 15, 2016 at the age of 82. Born and raised in Scranton, PA, Myles attended Scranton University where he obtained a Bachelor degree before serving as a US Army MP for two years. He then began his 45-year career as a Pharmaceutical Copywriter, receiving recognition for various ads.
Myles was a member of the NJ Jazz Society and enjoyed screen play writing, jazz music, travel and politics. What he enjoyed most was celebrating life with his family, a good glass of wine, a delicious meal, a dance with his wife and sharing a never-ending supply of corny jokes.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Tierney, and his children Timothy Tierney of Miami, FL, Patrick Tierney of Flemington, NJ, Julie Russell of Sayerville, NJ, Robert Russell of Brooklyn, NY, Christopher Russell of Whippany, NJ, Mark Russell of Washington DC and one sister; Mary Lou Ruane of Endicott, NY, and 7 beloved grandchildren; Timo, Jordan, Jason, Darren, Gavin, Sonia, and Nadia. He is predeceased by his son Myles Tierney, Jr.
Friends may visit with the family at the Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 11AM-3PM. Funeral Services will be held at 2:15PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the funeral home.
