Nancy E. Haller, 91, of Fairfield, CT and Chatham, NJ, passed away on February 21, 2023.  Funeral services are private.

Born and raised in New Lexington, OH, the daughter of Hugh and Alice (Wiggins) Welker, Nancy had also lived in Cincinnati, Savannah, GA, Albany, Orchard Park and Manlius, New York, Fairfield, CT and Morristown and Chatham, NJ.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Ohio State University.  In her early years she worked as an airline hostess and taught in an elementary school before leaving to raise her family.  She later received her certification in Early Childhood Education and worked as a teacher at the Greenfield Hill Church Nursery School in Fairfield Ct.  An avid reader, Nancy enjoyed walking, gardening and watching movies, especially pretty ones and comedies.  She was also an excellent seamstress, cook and baker.  She will be remembered for her quick wit and deep compassion for the less fortunate around the world.

Nancy was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Donald Haller.  She was the loving mother of William Haller and his wife Leish Clancy, Jane Simpson and her husband Charles, and Caroline Arnuk and her husband Saleem.  She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Treasa Haller and her fiancé Denzel Amevor, James Arnuk and his wife Caroline Coffee, William Arnuk and his partner Alex Calderon, and Mary Arnuk, as well as her brother Edwin (Ned) Welker, his wife Sharon and her nieces, Kate Welker, Liana Wheatley, Debbie Haller and Kim Barnes.  She is predeceased by her sister and best friend Susanna Welker. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to World Wildlife Fund, Heifer International or the Nature Conservancy.
