Nancy I. McCabe, 70, of Chatham, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ.
Nancy was born on February 18, 1951 in Paterson, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George and Carmelita (nee Bautista) Hall. She worked as a Catholic elementary school teacher for various schools and was associated with the Salesian Sisters, who she respected and honored.
She was an avid animal lover, especially of dogs, and was a part of many organizations fighting against animal cruelty. Nancy found immense happiness in gardening. She enjoyed sitting on her bench, watching the birds and the bees help pollinate her many flowers. Needless to say, Nancy lived life to the fullest.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 30 years, Michael McCabe, daughter, Amy Swiatecki-McCabe, and sisters; Cathy Weeks and Patricia Knaut. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Miranda.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928 with a prayer service at 12:30 pm in the funeral home. An interment will follow at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancy’s memory to ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
