Norma S. Steinen

~~Norma S. Steinen, 92, of Morristown and Stuart, Fla. passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on October 1st. A funeral service will be held at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 105 Mountainview Rd, in Warren on Saturday, October 4th at 11:00am. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Mausoleum in Basking Ridge. Friends are invited to visit at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St, Chatham on Friday from 5 to 7pm.

Born in Newark and raised in So. Orange where she graduated from Columbia High School, Norma had also lived in Short Hills before moving to Morristown 15 years ago. After graduating from Southern Seminary in VA, she worked at Best and Company in New York City then left to raise her family. Norma was an original member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church and was a TWIG volunteer at Morristown Memorial Hospital. She loved crossword puzzles, reading but above all her large loving family.

Norma was the beloved wife of 67 years to the late William F. Steinen. She was the loving mother of William, Jr., and his wife Mollie, Carol Gayman and her husband Ben, Barbara Kirch and her husband Roy, and Nancy Burman and her husband Rick. She was the grandmother affectionately known as “Gram” to nine grandchildren; Eric, Becky, Megan, Katie, Anna, Jeffrey, Holly, Shep, and David. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and two sisters-in-law; Nancy Bridgeman and Mary Jane Friant. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma’s memory may be made to either the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852 or the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301
