O. Marion Gerstenmeier, 88, died on Monday April 1, 2013 of natural causes at her home of more than 58 years. Born on September 5, 1924 as O. Marion Lick, she was the daughter of the Late James Walter Lick and Mary Schola Lick. She attended West Side High School in Newark, class of 1942. During her lifetime, she worked at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Seton Hall University.
She was predeceased by thirty years her husband, Walter L. Gerstenmeier Sr. She was also predeceased by siblings James Lick, Sarah Flynn, Edith Sherk, and T. Pauline Bartoli.
Marion is survived by her daughters Karen Gerstenmeier (previously Bloodgood), of West Long Branch; Donna Rech and her husband Edward, of Piscataway; Susan Naples and husband Daniel, Sr., of Sayreville; and son Walter L. Gerstenmeier, Jr., and his partner Jay Weiner, of Chatham. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Justin and Marisa Bloodgood; Lauren, Daniel, and Kyle Naples; and Jennifer and Christopher Rech.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday April 3, from 7-9pm.
