Olga Lee passed away in her home on August 6, 2019. She was 92 years old. Born on June 3, 1927, to Antoinette and George Kasiski, Olga was raised in Whippany, NJ for her first 21 years before moving to Morristown. When she was in her mid 40’s she moved to Springfield, NJ and has since called Springfield her home.
Olga was a substance abuse counselor at the Center for Addictive Illness in Morristown, NJ for 16 years. She also did counseling at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ and Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. Olga absolutely loved her work and felt “called” to her profession. Many of her clients and those she sponsored in AA, from all over the country, still kept in touch with her. Her great sense of humor and no-nonsense demeanor, combined with her passion to help others stay sober “one day at a time” was highly successful.
Olga celebrated 47 years of sobriety in April of this year. She and her husband, Frank Lee were very active in the Summit, NJ Alcoholics Anonymous. Olga sponsored and mentored hundreds of men and women over the years.
Olga’s sobriety was one of her proudest accomplishments besides her 2 children. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Sousley of Yakima, WA, and her son, Jack Krozser of Redlands, CA. She has one granddaughter, Kendra Wagar of Yakima, WA. Her husband, Francis P. Lee (Frank) passed away in March 2002.
