Olga Rabke

Olga (Marinelli) Rabke of Scotch Plains died at her home on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. She was 79. Born and raised in Campobasso, Italy, she came to the U.S. when she was 22. A Scotch Plains resident for 47 years, she previously lived in Jersey City and Union.


Olga is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harold Rabke; son, Karl Rabke and his wife Lisa of Bridgewater, NJ; daughters, Claudia and her husband Kevin Cronin of Newton, MA; and Marisa and her husband Sean Huban of Fairfield, CT. Olga was also the proudest grandmother ever of 9 grandchildren: Alex & Theo Rabke; Terence, Christopher Lee, Emily & Jennifer Ida Cronin; Sean-Michael, Isabella and Mick Huban. She is also survived by her sister Marisa Zarrilli and predeceased by her brother Libero Marinelli.


Olga was an Italian Professoressa for ages 2 through 92. She loved people and brought joy to many students and friends. She loved the theatre and appeared onstage in Manhattan. She was a member of: Italian Teachers Association of NJ, Thum Ballroom Dance Club, L’Angoletto Italiano and Petite Coin de France. She loved to wear hats. To honor her spirit, friends are invited to wear their favorite hat on a special occasion in memory of her. The family is planning a memorial service.
