Pamela P. Griffin, 93, of Chatham, New Jersey, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.
Pam was born on February 27, 1928, in Jersey City, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Edgar Allan Poe Peters (Mae O’Toole). She grew up in Jersey City, where she met her husband of 69 years, John A. Griffin. They moved to Short Hills in 1958, where they raised their family. They settled in Chatham in 2004.
Pam was a graduate of Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA. She worked as a realtor at Burgdorff Realtors, in Short Hills, NJ, for over 30 years.
Pam was a former member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Short Hills, NJ, and most recently was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Church, Chatham, NJ. Pamela was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution for over 70 years.
Above all, Pam was very family-oriented and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Jack, and was the loving mother of Pamela McCullough, John Peter Griffin, Carol Appino and husband Perry, Joan Griffin and husband Andrew Mayo, and Elizabeth Rollenhagen. In addition, Pam was the cherished grandmother of Kelly Appino Otte and her husband Neil Otte, Katherine McCullough Lewis and husband William Lewis, Anne McCullough, Abigail Rollenhagen, Sara Rubin, and Matthew Rubin, and great-grandmother of Cecelia Otte and Madeleine Otte. She is also survived by her dear sister, Joan McQuillan. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Pam’s caretakers, Julita Banfo, Nikki Lawal-Mason, Bernice Okine, and Phelicia Harris.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Boulevard, Chatham, NJ 07928. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child, 44 Blackburn Road, Summit, NJ 07901.
