After a long illness, Patricia (Harrison) Cerverizzo, 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 30, 2020. Pat was born on March 22, 1942 in Chicago, IL. Before she was 20 years old she moved with her family all over the country in places such as Colorado Springs, Indianapolis and Louisville. Pat received her BS degree in Education at Murray State University in Murray, KY where she met her husband, Sam Cerverizzo. After graduation they were married on October 10, 1965 in Brooklyn, NY. She taught elementary school in Brooklyn, Ft Bragg, NC (while also being an Army wife) and Staten Island, NY. She, Sam and her children Tom and Natalie lived in Belgium before settling in Chatham Township, NJ 38 years ago.
Aside from her many civic involvements, her main focus was her family and her Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church in Sparta, NJ where she taught Jr. Church, served in the nursery and organized and decorated all the dinners and activities.
Pat deeply loved and is survived by her husband of 54 years, Sam; son, Thomas and wife Sharon (Schultz), of Chatham, NJ; daughter Natalie and husband Frank (Kelly) of Berkeley Heights, NJ. She cherished her five grandchildren, Joshua and wife Angela (Antonaccio), Jessica, Rachel, Mitchell and Avery. In addition she is survived by her sister, Diane Campbell and husband, David, of Post Falls, ID. She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary Lou Harrison.
Due to the social restrictions imposed because of COVID-19, a funeral service will be held for immediate family only on Tuesday, May 5th at Bradley & Son Funeral Home in Chatham, NJ. A burial at The Fair Mount Cemetery in Chatham will immediately follow. When social restrictions are lifted, a Memorial Service celebrating her life and entry to Heaven will take place at Faith Baptist Church, Sparta, NJ.
