Patricia Lurker, 82 of Somerset, NJ passed away peacefully on December 6. Born in Newark, NJ the daughter of Madeline and Theodore Lurker of East Hanover. Pat grew up in East Hanover and graduated from Hanover Park High School in 1959. She is survived by her two daughters, Pam Patterson and her sons, James and Sean Patterson and Kristin Klein Opulencia, her husband, Hector and their daughters Jules and Chloe Opulencia, her sister, Susan Tomchuk, and brother, Robin Lurker.
Pat was owner of The Office Inc. for 44 years and was the owner/editor of The Social List of Morris and Somerset Counties, a local publication of almost 90 years. She was also a handwriting analyst.
Pat had many interests including traveling, collecting giraffes, photography, and baseball. Her favorite trips included photographing polar bears in Alaska, visiting Giraffe Manor in Kenya and spending time at many resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico. She was a long-time avid Yankee fan, attending spring training and opening day for many years and carried a Mickey Mantle baseball card in her wallet for her entire adult life. She volunteered for the Dave Winfield foundation and collected baseball memorabilia.
Pat loved the 1890’s Victorian home she owned for years, filling it with antiques and throwing elaborate parties and always enjoyed decorating for the seasons and holidays. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
Friends are invited to Bradley Braviak Funeral Home on Monday, December 11, 2023 for visitation hours of 3pm to 7pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 12, at Kitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church, 469 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover at 10am with a burial to follow at Restland Memorial Park.
