~~Patricia Elizabeth Cladis, 79, of Summit passed away at her home on July 3, 2017. A funeral service will be held at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave. in Springfield on Saturday, July 8th at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Born in Shanghai, China, the daughter of Frank and Ellen Grossmith, Patricia had also lived in Canada before moving to the United States. A longtime resident of Summit, she worked for many years as a physicist with Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill.
Patricia was the beloved wife of the late George Cladis. She is was the loving mother of Harrison and his wife Lisa and Franklyn and his husband Joseph. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Hudson, Alethea, William, Catherine and Mary, and her dear brother Dr. John Grossmith and his wife Elayne.
