Peter Harding Tulloch III
May 26, 2000 – November 21, 2021
Peter Harding Tulloch III, of Summit, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2021. He was 21. Pete was an inspirational young man with an indomitable spirit who gave tremendous joy to his entire family. He was deeply kind, caring, compassionate and open-minded. He was exceptionally bright and articulate. Though faced with the challenge of having a physical disability since birth, he had managed with grit and determination to exceed many predictions as he matured into an independent and accomplished gentleman. Pete will be deeply missed by his family and friends and the memory of how Pete lived his life will continue to inspire all who loved him. He will forever be remembered for his ready smile, his quick yet gentle wit, his compassion for all and his signature bear hugs. He loved being outdoors, cheering for the NY Rangers and the Yankees, discussing current events, and spending time with his devoted family. He was attending Amherst College as a Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought major, where he excelled in a very academically challenging environment. A 2018 Summit High School graduate, he was a member of the Summit Speech and Debate Team, as well as, the theater set crew. When at the Summit Middle School, he received the distinguished Community Service Award recognizing his extensive volunteerism as a TryCAN Peer Mentor, having compassionately served younger children with challenges similar to his own.
Pete is survived by his parents Peter Jr. and Liza, his sister Elin, his paternal grandparents Peter and Virginia (Cox) Tulloch, his paternal uncle Robert Tulloch (Casey), his maternal grandmother Katherine (Stroebele) Powell, his maternal aunt Emily (Powell) Kramer (Matthew) and cousins Lila and Conrad, and his beloved dogs Tally and Bay. Peter was predeceased by his paternal great grandmothers Elin Tulloch Gulliver and Rosalie Cox Volkening, and his maternal grandfather, Sydney J. Powell III.
