Fuschetto, Pierina (nee Cocchiarella), 92, of Summit, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Mario Fuschetto. Dearest sister of the late Luigi, Sofia, Giselda, and Mario Cocchiarella. Loving mother of Josephine & her husband Felix DeFranco, Enzo & his wife Cheryl Fuschetto and the late Anthony Fuschetto. Cherished grandmother of Daniela & her husband Steve Colletti, Vinny, Anthony & his fiancé Heather, Deena, Jessica, Alexa and Anthony. Adored great-grandmother of Luca and Asher.
Pierina was born in the picturesque town of Fragneto L’Abate, Benevento, Italy, on September 20, 1931. Along with her husband and two children, she migrated from Italy in hopes of a better life in America. She worked for 25 years at King James Nursing Home until her retirement to care for her grandchildren who were very dear to her. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and taking walks around her quaint neighborhood. Pierina also had a knack for crocheting blankets. Her creations were expressions of her love and affection. These blankets, often gifted to friends, family, and her grand-doggy Bella, will remain as cherished keepsakes, reminding the recipients of Pierina’s warmth and generosity.
In her passing, Pierina leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and generosity. She showed us all that a life lived with kindness, resilience, and loved ones is a life well-lived.
Funeral Monday 8:30AM from the Bradley, Brough, & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Ave, Summit. Funeral Mass 9:30AM St. Teresa of Avila Church, Summit. Interment to follow St. Teresa’s Cemetery.
