Ralph J. DeFino, 84, life-long resident of Springfield, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Berkeley Heights.
Ralph was born on November 28, 1935 in Springfield, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Charles and June Ella (nee Grimm) DeFino. Ralph served in the United States Air Force where he was a member of the Air Police.
He was a volunteer fireman for the Springfield Fire Department for 10 years, a 60 year member of the Springfield Elks where he was a Past Exalted Ruler and long-time member of the Springfield Presbyterian Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating and was an avid golfer.
Ralph was predeceased by his wife, Gail DeFino in 2014 and son Joseph in 2018. He was the father of daughter, Kathy and Frank DiProfio, daughter-in-law, Christine DeFino and daughter, Theresa and Tom Gorgia and cherished grandfather of Lisa, Matthew and Daniel DiProfio, Zachary and Joshua DeFino and Tom and Christopher Gorgia. In addition, he is survived by his brother-in-law, James and Mary Nordell and cousin, Michael and Maria Nazzaro.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 am at Springfield Presbyterian Church, 210 Morris Avenue, Springfield NJ 07081. Private cremation.
