Rev. Msgr. Ron Amandolare

Rev. Msgr. Ronald A. Amandolare, “Father Ron”, of Little Egg Harbor, passed away at his home on September 29, 2014. He was 80. Born in Mount Vernon, NY, Father Ron attended St. Ann Elementary School and Fordham Prep High School, both in the Bronx. After graduating from Fordham Prep, he entered Seminary at Cathedral College in New York City and later Immaculate Conception Seminary in Darlington. He was ordained on May 27, 1961 at St. John’s Cathedral in Paterson. Father Ron served the Paterson Diocese in many capacities over the years. His priestly assignments included Immaculate Conception in Franklin; Blessed Sacrament in Paterson; Morris Catholic High School in Denville; Diocesan School Office Assistant; Superintendent of Schools, Diocesan Director of Religious Education; Pastor, St. Paul’s Parish, Clifton; Pastor, St. Patrick’s Parish, Chatham; and Diocesan Director for the implementation of the RCIA. More recently, Fr. Ron assisted on the weekends at St. Theresa’s Parish in Little Egg Harbor for the last 13 years. He was a member of the National Catholic Education Association and the National Forum of the Catechumenate. He was the beloved son of the late Louis and Emma Amandolare. Loving brother of John Amandolare of Poughkeepsie, NY; Albert W. Amandolare of Milford, MA and the late Camille McGlone. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, corner of Washington Ave. and Chatham St., Chatham on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 10:30 am. An interment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison. Visitation will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Chatham on Thursday from 3:00-9:00 pm.
