Richard Sorge passed away at Winchester Gardens in Maplewood on January 3, 2024. He was 88.
Born and raised in Irvington, he was the son of the late Ruth and Herman Sorge. He attended Irvington High School and later worked for Hudson Blueprint in Irvington as a printer.
Richard was a kind and generous person with a dry sense of humor who had many varied interests throughout his life including gardening, photography and biking.
He was the beloved brother of Deborah Biber of Springfield, Joan Klena of Millburn and John McCallum of Grand Prairie, TX. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Susan Laferara and his dear friend, Myrtle Rosenblatt, whom he enjoyed many happy times.
