Roger Michael Holdredge, 67, of Bernardsville, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, Roger attended Providence College where he was a member of the college hockey team under Lou Lamoriello and graduated with a degree in Business. He worked in the music industry for over 25 years, with CBS, Sony and Virgin Records in Boston, New York and Los Angeles. After his retirement, he became a craftsman and woodworker, who was skilled at building furniture. Roger was a long time Boy Scout scout master in West Windsor, New Jersey. He was a volunteer with Hospice of Princeton, as well as the Mended Hearts of Morris County. His love of traveling and playing golf led to him enjoy many rounds of golf in Ireland. He was a master scuba diver, who enjoyed the waters of Cozumel the most. Roger was a one year goalie coach for Montgomery High School Hockey Team in Skillman, NJ. He also coached in Nassau Hockey League and in the Princeton Travel Teams.
Roger is survived by his wife of 21 years, JoAnn Alston; children Kevin Holdredge and his wife Beth, Chris Holdredge and his wife Heather; Kelly Alston Gach and her husband Michael, James Douglas Alston, and Jonathan Douglas Holdredge; grandchildren Eric, Sarah, Ethan, Cate and Ryan Holdredge; and siblings David, Michael and Ann Holdredge.
There will be a memorial service on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 11am at the Community Congregational Church, 200 Hartshorn Drive, Short Hills.
