Roger Russel Fisher, age 92, of New Providence, NJ passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. He was born in Chatham, NJ in 1931 and graduated from Chatham High School in 1950 where he was a member of the Varsity Soccer Team. A proud member of the US Marine Corps, Roger served during the Korean War, following which he was a 43-year employee and Manager of A&P Food Stores. Famous for and loved by all for his “Pouk-isms”, Roger was an outdoorsman and avid fisherman. He and his brothers joyfully embarked on annual pilgrimages to the Ozarks for great fishing, fun and comradery. Lovingly married to Marlene for 61 years until her passing in 2017, Roger is survived by his 3 children Steven Fisher, Scott Fisher and Susan Fisher-Gallagher as well as his 5 grandchildren Connor, Lindsey, Davis, Kristina and Phoebe. Roger will always be remembered for his love of Italian food, kind heart, fun-loving spirit, and never-ending generosity.
