Rose D. Hinds “Doris” of Green Village, NJ, passed away on August 14, 2021. A funeral service will be held at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. in Chatham on Tuesday, August 17th at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, from 4pm to 8pm.
Born in Irvington, the daughter of George and Rose (Milford) Murphy, Doris was raised in Gillette, graduating from Morristown High School in 1945, and has resided in Green Village since 1948. A homemaker and an avid Yankees fan who enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, playing cards and fishing. Most of all, she loved being with her family especially at their cabin in Vermont. She was also a long time member of the Green Village Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary.
Doris was the beloved wife of the late Leo M. Hinds. She was the loving mother of Judy Krickus (Bob), Gail Swenor (Robert), Patricia Hinds (Eric McLemore) and the late Glenn Hinds (Diane). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Rob Krickus (Jennifer), Leo Hinds (Emily), Sarah LaVecchia (John), Melissa Krickus, Kimberly Cessna (Charlie), Amanda Bassolino (Joe), Laura Merritt (Nick), Matthew Rosenthal, and Matt Krickus, and great grandchildren, Thomas Hinds, Theodore Krickus and Robert Krickus. She is predeceased by her brothers, Eugene Murphy and Vincent Murphy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ memory may be made to either the Green Village Fire Dept., 529 Green Village Rd., Green Village, NJ 07935, or the Green Village United Methodist Church, 500 Spring Valley Rd., Green Village, NJ 07935.
