Rosemarie Tansey “Rowie”, 63 of Chatham passed away at her home on January 10th.
Born and raised in Newark where she graduated from St. James High School, Rowie moved to Chatham 22 years ago. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Jersey City State Teaches College and her Master’s Degree in Education from Seton Hall University.
Rowie had worked as a Speech Therapist for the Jersey City Board of Education for over 35 years. Following her retirement, she had worked as a substitute teacher for ECLC in Chatham.
Rowie was the beloved sister of Margaret Tansey, Thomas Tansey, Kathleen Emery and her husband Pat, and John Tansey and his wife Frances. She is also survived by cherished nieces and nephews; Meghan Durda, Michael Tansey, Katherine Tansey, Kimberly Fecteau, Emily Jenkinson, and John Emery and great nieces and nephews; John, Luke, Peter, Cathleen, and Thomas. She is predeceased by her niece Sarah Emery.
