Ruth M. Morris, 97, of Whippany, New Jersey passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Morris was born May 7, 1917 in Jersey City, NJ. She lived there until 1948, when she and her family moved to Whippany and where she has since resided.
Mrs. Morris was a graduate of Henry Snyder High school. After graduation she pursued a career as a secretary. Until her retirement, she was the personal legal secretary to the Honorable H. Dean Stewart, Esq. in Whippany.
Mrs. Morris was predeceased by her devoted and loving husband Edward I. Morris in 2007 and her son, Edward J. Morris. Mrs. Morris leaves behind her beloved family, daughter Lynn C. Edgar and her husband Robert J. Edgar of Mt. Kemble Lake, Harding Twp., daughter-in-law, Janet F. Morris of Cross River, NY and her adored grandchildren; Christopher R. Edgar and his wife Meghan of Morris Twp., Ryan J. Edgar and his wife Tricia of Colchester, CT, and Tyler H. Edgar and his wife Mary of Montague, Derek J. Morris and his wife Jessica of Levittown, PA. She is also survived by five beautiful great-grandchildren and her caretaker, Luretha Daniel of Irvington, NJ.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Cedar Knolls First Aid Squad, Hanover Township Police Department, PBA Local 128, and or The First Presbyterian Church of Whippany.
