It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Saverio Cassanelli’s passing on January 27, 2022 at the age of 84. Saverio (“Sam”) was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Mr. Cassanelli was the most honest, supportive and loyal man who touched so many. Always willing to help his family, friends and neighbors with a smile. His passion for sharing life lessons and common sense judgment instilled unmatched faith and family values to all he touched.

Saverio was born in Molfetta, Italy and spent several years in the Italian Navy where he served as chef. Sam moved to the U.S. in the late 1960s and married his loving wife Elisa in 1968. Most of his career was spent with Roche before retiring to Florida in 2007.

Sam enjoyed his retirement loving and guiding his family, cooking with his heart and always finding something to fix. He enjoyed many summer trips to Italy and loved nothing more than sharing a great meal and stories with his loved ones. He worked hard, laughed hard and was the heartbeat of his family. He especially loved seeing the success of children and grandchildren.

Sam leaves behind his true love and wife Elisa who cared for him through his illness, his treasured sons, Frank and Joseph, his daughter-in-law Tina, Anca, his special grandchildren Christian, Matthew, Samantha and Alexa and his caring brothers and sister Angelo (wife Lucy), Nino (wife Frances), Michael (wife Enza) and Maria. Sam also leaves behind many incredible nieces, nephews, cousins and innumerable friends in the U.S. and Italy.

Mr. Cassanelli was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed and forever admired.
