So “Astor” Chin was a remarkable woman, spouse, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who was loved by everyone. So Chin peacefully passed surrounded by her family after her valiant battle with ovarian cancer on Friday, November 4.
She is survived by her husband, Suk, of 56 years, sister and brother: Shuet and Terry, daughters: Alva and Lila, sons-in-law: Ken and Carmen, and grandchildren: Kayla and Ashley, and much more dear extended family.
She resided in Roxbury Township and lived in her beautiful home with her husband for 30 years.
So worked as an alteration lead at Lord & Taylor, Rockaway for 31 years until she retired in 2020. She has often said that she worked with an amazing group of colleagues and referred to them as her second family. She loved to keep in touch with her friends.
Her hobbies and interests included cooking for her family, gardening, and providing her talented sewing skills as a labor of love for others. Her favorite flowers were orchids.
She leaves an everlasting impact on the lives of everyone she has met and will be remembered for her unconditional love, kindness, and giving personality.
Our Matriarch will be sorely missed and forever treasured in our hearts and memories. Although her passing deeply saddens us, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her parents, sister, nephew, and son, David.
Services will be held at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home at 49 Whippany Road, Whippany NJ on Thursday, November 10th from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm, and private services for immediate family on Saturday, November 12th beginning at 9:00-10:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY.
