Susan Patricia Nicoll
02/13/1971 - 07/19/2022

Susan Patricia Nicoll (nee Kerekes), 51, of Morris Plains, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2022. Susan was adopted by her loving parents when she was 6 weeks old from Newark Catholic Charities. At 6 years old, Susan was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, which led her to be an unbelievably strong willed girl and she never let it interfere with or hinder anything that she wanted to do. Susan was a very adventurous girl and woman with a bit of a daredevil streak. She, along with her son, loved to seek out all the thrill rides at the parks and spending time fishing together in Key West. Susan enjoyed huge family functions, Christmas time in NY, spending time at the shore house, gardening, and her photography. Susan never let her diabetes stop her.

Susan was a Whippany girl. She attended Bee Meadow School, Memorial Junior, and Whippany Park High School before embarking on her collegiate journey, obtaining two degrees, graduating Cum Laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University with her degree in Psychology and graduating from Seton Hall with a BS in Nursing. She was employed as Registered Nurse at Morristown Medical Center for 12 years in the Orthopedic Trauma Unit where she held her own office as the Clinical Coordinator for the unit and was highly respected by all who interacted with her.

Susan had a love for everything driving, from her Range Rover and Nissan GTR, even attending and driving at the Bertil Roos Racing School at Pocono, PA, where she drove in open wheel Formula Fords, and she was better than half the men in the race series. While on the race course she was 1/10th of second slower than her Dad, an experienced driver. She also loved driving her Dad’s Acura NSX on the track at Watkins Glen, the world famous racetrack. Susan and her Mom saw or talked to each other every day of Susan’s 51 years. Susan’s proudest achievement of her life is her son, Matthew, now entering his junior year at Syracuse University.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, David, and son, Matthew; her adoring parents, Robert & Mary Kerekes, Whippany, NJ, her brothers, Robert Kerekes, Morris Plains, NJ, her brother and sister in law, Kevin & Gyll Kerekes, Florham Park, NJ. She is also survived by her nieces, Alexa and Adriana, and her nephew, Sterling.
