Teresa “Terry” LaFerrara, of Whippany, passed away on May 19, 2020. She was 91.
Teresa was born on July 9, 1928 in Newark, NJ at the beginning of the Great Depression. During this time, her parents, Henry and Philomena Cignarella, moved their family, which included her 11 brothers and sisters, to Blue Anchor, NJ, where they farmed for several years before moving back to Newark.
Married to her Husband, the late Louis LaFerrara I in 1950, they were blessed with two Sons, Anthony Louis LaFerrara and his wife Marie Elena, of Whippany; and Louis LaFerrara II and his wife Amelia, of Clark. Teresa lived with Anthony and Marie in Whippany for 35 memorable years.
Teresa’s greatest joys were her grandchildren, Anthony Mark LaFerrara of Rockaway, NJ and his Wife, Jessica; Sarah (LaFerrara) Flanagan of Manchester, NH and her Husband, Keegan Flanagan along with Teresa’s Great-Grandson, Vito Joseph Flanagan; Louis LaFerrara III and Nicole LaFerrara of Clark, NJ.
Teresa had a special bond with her Brothers and Sisters, and many great memories with more than 50 Nieces and Nephews and Grand-Nieces and -Nephews that are too many to count.
Teresa will always be remembered for the love she had for pets, helping to care for many adopted furry friends.
Teresa was very generous to many charities that were dear to her heart.
Our Dear Mom, Grandma, Sister and Aunt will be greatly missed by all.
