Theresa Nadeau
10/13/1921 - 05/17/2019

Theresa Nadeau (nee Theoret) of Union, NJ, devoted mother and beloved grandmother, entered into eternal rest on May 17, 2019, at the age of 97. Theresa was born on October 13, 1921, in Crane River, Manitoba, Canada, to Adrien and Mederise Theoret (nee Lebel), and grew up in Valleyfield, Quebec. She married Henri-Louis Nadeau in 1946. With Theresa’s parents, they moved to Newark, NJ, and eventually settled in Union to raise their growing family.

Theresa was a dedicated beautician and businesswoman who co-operated Don’s Beauty Salon, before she retired at the age of 88. During her retirement, Theresa crocheted many blankets and scarves and donated them to patients at Morristown Medical Center.

While diminutive in stature, she had great heart, energy, and joie de vivre. The happiness she derived from family and music was always on display — including last fall, when she danced at her granddaughter’s wedding. Her life was full and truly blessed, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is predeceased by her parents; her brother, Anatole; and her sister, Lydia. She is survived by her children Linda Ursitti, Louise Kennedy (Vincent Carabello), Lydia Nadeau (Michael K. Mullen), and Robert Nadeau, along with her grandchildren Daniel, Alexandra Borchert (Scott), Gabriele, and Michael.

A funeral mass will be held for family and close friends, on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 10:15 am at St. Michael’s Church, Union. A memorial service celebrating Theresa’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Theresa’s memory to Atlantic Home Care & Hospice, Music in the Atrium Program at the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, or PBS.
