Thomas A. Coppola, longtime Whippany resident, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019. He was born in Newark, New Jersey to William and Filomena Coppola. He graduated from Central High School in Newark, and went on to earn a degree in mechanical design from NJIT. Tom was a veteran of the US Army, who served during the Korean War. Tom worked as a mechanical designer at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, before ultimately retiring from AT&T/Lucent, in 1996. Tom loved photography and appreciated art. He enjoyed music and stereo. He was also proud to show his Porsche at a road rally club. Tom was also a member of the Whippany Knights of Columbus Council.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Florence. He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Donna Lebo and her husband Michael, and Linda Stelwagon and her husband Fred; and his adored grandchildren Michelle and Danielle and Jacob and Lauren. Tom is also survived by his sister, Marie Wallace and her husband Tom.
