Thomas “Tom” W. Leddy, Jr., 82 of Union, NJ, passed peacefully into God’s hands at home, on May 26, 2021. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Tom lived in Irvington, NJ, before moving to Union in 1983. Tom is survived by his loving sister, Mary Spillane, beloved daughter, Jacqueline Leddy, cherished grandfather of Gillian Leddy-Plath and Jonathan Leddy-Plath. Tom leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Tom is predeceased by both his loving wife, Edith and son, Scott. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Tom was the sole provider for his family of a lifetime. He worked at Genser-Foman in Union, NJ and Jaguar Cars, first in Leonia, NJ and in Mahwah, NJ, where he loved his job, in the Warranty Department.

He was a retired member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4504 in Union, NJ and was a retired Usher at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Union, NJ. He was a loving father and a wonderful grandfather.  The Godfather of many, Tom was affectionately known simply as “The Godfather”. Tom was always one to make people laugh, even in the darkest of times.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 10:15am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Union, NJ. Interment to follow at 11:30am at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ.
