~~Timothy F. Murphy, 83, of Summit, NJ, formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed peacefully at home on March 7, 2014. Born in Knocknagree, County Cork Ireland, Timothy lived in Staten Island and Brooklyn, NY, before moving to Summit, NJ, seven years ago. He retired from the New York City Transit Authority in 1992. Timothy was a member of the Emerald Society of N.Y. Transit and a parishioner of St. Teresa’s R.C. Church in Summit, NJ. He loved family vacations, reading, walking, music and traveling to Florida and Ireland. Timothy is survived by his wife Mary Murphy (nee Twomey), father of Mary Hammond and her husband Bill, Anna Murphy and her husband Ted Lockwood, Helen Tobin and her husband Kevin, Timothy Murphy and his wife Christine, grandfather of Emily, Brendan & Owen Hammond, Meghan & James Lockwood, Christopher & Andrew Tobin, Connor, Jack & Brian Murphy, and his sister Margaret O’Connor of County Cork Ireland. A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Monday, March 10th at 9:30am at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave, Summit. Interment St. Teresa’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Saturday, March 8th from 5 to 8pm and Sunday, March 9th from to 2 to 4pm & 7 to 9pm at the Bradley Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 309 Springfield Ave, Summit, NJ.
