Tyler Hartlaub

Tyler Hartlaub, a recent Chatham resident who previously lived his entire life in Summit, passed away suddenly on December 8, 2014. He was 32 years old.

Tyler graduated from Summit High School in 2000, and attended Miami (Ohio) University and Seton Hall University. He recently became a Certified Financial Advisor and licensed insurance agent, and was the owner of The Hartlaub Insurance Group, LLC, in Summit

In his spare time Tyler was involved in the Young Adult Ministry at St. Paul Inside the Walls Catholic Center For Evangelization at Bayley-Ellard in Madison, and also volunteered his time on behalf of the Tri-County Scholarship Fund. A fitness advocate, he was an active member of the NK Croatia soccer club, and enjoyed competing in cross-training competitions when time allowed.

Tyler was a kind, giving young man who went the extra mile to help those around him; his loss is a tragedy deeply felt by his family, friends and colleagues. Survivors include his mother, Joanne Hartlaub, of Boonton; his father, R. Jeffrey Hartlaub, and stepmother, Faye Hartlaub, of Summit; his brother, Kyle Hartlaub, of Summit; stepgrandmother Charlotte Hartlaub of Pompton Plains; stepbrother John Cryan and Michelle Lyons of Matawan; stepsister Megan Bell and husband Steven Bell Hoboken; aunt Marybeth Lederman and husband Peter Lederman of Westfield; and cousins Gwyneth Lederman and Charlotte Lederman. A Mass of the Resurrection in celebration of Tyler’s life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the Great Hall at St. Paul Inside the Walls Catholic Center, 205 Madison Ave, Madison 07940. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to “St. Paul Inside the Walls”, with a memo “For benefit of the Young Adult Ministry”, and directed to the St. Paul address.
