Valerie Eger, (Mandy), 66, of Union, passed away on September 21, 2022. Born in Newark, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Kowalick) Mandy, she grew up in Irvington and graduated from Irvington High School in 1973. She was a resident of Union for 37 years. Valerie worked as a data entry clerk for Arbee Associates in Piscataway until 2009. She enjoyed spending time at the shore, loved the Yankees and adored her grandchildren.
Predeceased by her son Ryan. Survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Joseph Eger, daughter in law Kerri Eger, grandson Joseph Eger, granddaughter Elvie Eger, son John Eger, sister and brother-in-law Karen and Tom Scheick, in laws Michael and Nancy Eger and Jerry and Jeanette Eger. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1212 Kelly St. in Union on Tuesday, September 27th at 10:15am. Interment is private. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave. in Union on Monday, September 26th from 4 to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Valerie’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
