Valerie S. Selwyn
07/03/1923 - 06/01/2022

Valerie Selwyn, 98, of Morristown, NJ died on June 1, 2022 after a bad fall.  Valerie Selwyn was born at home in Manhattan in July, 1923 and spent her teenage years in Europe with her family during WWII.  She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and John Krcha, bakery owners, and the loving wife of the late Frank Selwyn.  She passed away in Morristown after a long and happy life.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie O’Connor (Vincent) of Morristown; son, Michael Selwyn (Marianne) of Jackson Township; grandchildren Melanie Campora (Jim) of Roselle Park; Jeff O’Connor (Kathleen) of Summit; and Katherine O’Connor of Portland, Oregon.

Valerie was a wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother and friend.  She moved from Richmond Hill, Queens to Morristown in 2006 to live with her daughter.  She loved her family and always placed them first in her life.  She loved cooking special meals for her family, reading mysteries, having her hair done every week, shopping, going to the library, giving out good advice, taking 15 cruises to warm places, volunteering at Morristown Hospital, playing Bunco with her dear friends and being involved with her family activities.  She was a parishioner at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church.  We will keep her forever In our hearts.
