Vincent J. De Gaetano, 82, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY., Vincent lived in Middle Village, Queens before settling in Springfield in 1967.
A Master Gardener, Vincent was a past president of the Springfield Garden Club. He was also a Eucharistic minister at St James the Apostle Church in Springfield, as well as a past president of the Seniors Club there. He was the active President of the Friends of the Springfield Library. In addition to gardening, Vincent also loved travelling, and has visited countries all over the world.
Predeceased by his brother Roy, Vincent is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Dorothy; brother Gary De Gaetano and his wife Christina, sister in law Barbara De Gaetano, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
