Violet Patterson (Spaniardi), longtime Whippany resident and retired Antique Shop business owner, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2020.
Violet was the beloved wife of the late Robert Patterson, loving mother of Lorraine Lightfoot of Whippany and Cindy Frenzel and her husband John Scharwath of Randolph. She was the loving and proud grandmother of Casey Frenzel of Norfolk, VA and Kate Frenzel and her fiancée Michael Julian of Reading, PA. She was the loving sister of Richard Spaniardi and his wife Mary of Denver, CO. She is predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Spaniardi, Ralph Spaniardi and Geralyn Gudebski
Violet enjoyed an early career as a nightclub singer. She loved entertaining, cooking, dancing, and in her later life, attending Hanover Township Senior Club outings. She will be missed by many relatives and close friends.
Visiting hours at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd, in Whippany will be held on Sunday, September 13th from 3pm to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany Rd. in Whippany on Monday, September 14th at 10am.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Violet’s memory may be made to either the New Jersey Humane Society, 6412 Dewey Ave., West New York, NJ 07093 or the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer, 415 Crossways Park Dr., Suite D, Woodbury, NY 11797.
