~~Walter W. Francis, III, 58, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017. He was born in Louisville, KY and lived in Madison, NJ for most of his adult life. Visitation is on Tuesday, June 6 from 4 to 9pm at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St, Chatham NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am Wednesday, June 7 at St. Vincent Martyr Church, Green Village Rd, Madison NJ. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover NJ.

Walter is survived by his mother Thelma Francis, his sisters and their husbands Jean and Bob Gupko, Barb and Ed Krysa, Linda and Donn Stout, and Susan and Scott Kessel; nieces and nephews Chris and wife Elena Gupko, Stephanie Gupko, Justin Stout, Shauna Stout, Matt Krysa and Nikki Krysa; great-nieces and great-nephew Anna Gupko, Chanel Stout and Tucker Stout. He is pre-deceased by his father Walter W. Francis, Jr.

As a youth, Walter was a member of Boy Scout Troop 7 of St. Vincent Martyr Church. He was an athlete, playing softball and ice hockey, and was a skier and ski instructor. An avid outdoorsman, Walter enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and his Llewellin Setter, Phoebe. He was also an accomplished gardener and enjoyed cooking with the vegetables he grew.

Walter was co-owner of Chatham Print and Design, helping found the company in 1978. He was a successful businessman and enjoyed being involved in the community. He and Phoebe were well known around Chatham.
